What ingredients are in ProteaseZyme?
Each dose of ProteaseZyme includes a proprietary blend of protease enzymes and bromelain. Here’s a closer look at both:
The enzyme blend
HUT stands for hemoglobin unit tyrosine and refers to the amount of enzymatic activity the enzyme is capable of producing. How much work it can do, in other words. It’s not important to understand exactly what HUT means, only that it refers to what the protease does specifically – break down proteins.
The larger the number of HUTs, the more work the enzyme can do. ProteaseZyme’s peptidase blend has an extremely high HUT count, which means it can process more protein than your typical protease supplement.
Bromelain is a mix of proteases found in the fruit and juice of the pineapple plant. It is a popular ingredient in protease supplements and has been used in medicine for centuries, mostly in South and Central America.
In addition to helping with protein digestion, research suggests that bromelain could provide other health benefits. Several animal studies have found that bromelain could help with cardiovascular health (bromelain interferes with blood clotting) and osteoarthritis and colitis, due to its anti-pain and anti-inflammatory qualities. Bromelain may even be effective against certain tumors, as a 2010 study revealed.
What else do Protease enzymes do in the body?Protease enzymes are one of life’s foundational building blocks. They’ve evolved separately in many animals and plants, and they fill many important roles. In addition to processing protein, protease enzymes could also do the following:
Improve the symptoms of some digestive disorders
Improve the symptoms of inflammatory disorders
Potentially fight certain types of cancer
In one test-tube study, bromelain was found to interfere with the growth of stomach and colon cancer cells. Bromelain was also able to induce death in existing stomach and colon cancer cells. Another study that used bromelain extracted from pineapple stem confirmed this finding. It concluded that bromelain could lower the risk of colon cancer. A third study investigated a combination of bromelain and papain (another type of protease) and found that it inhibited the growth and induced death in bile duct cancer cells.
Help reduce post-exercise muscle fatigue
Two studies have provided the relevant research. One used a combination of bromelain and curcumin (an anti-inflammatory substance in turmeric) and another used a mix of bromelain, papain and trypsin. Both studies found that the protease enzymes reduce tenderness and soreness following workouts.
Speed up injury healing
Are there any allergens or irritants in ProteaseZyme?
ProteaseZyme is formulated to be easy on the body, so it’s free of common allergens and irritants. Specifically, there is no dairy, lactose, peanuts, sugar, soy or wheat in ProteaseZyme.
Support protein digestion and better health with ProteaseZyme
Proteins are the building blocks of life, and your body needs plenty of building blocks to keep its tissues healthy. ProteaseZyme ensures that your gut can properly process those proteins, with a combination of enzymes proven to possess many health benefits.
